Corporate Gift Basket Protocol

Corporate gift baskets are a great thing to give someone in the workplace. With any gift basket, it must be appropriate enough for the workplace so that anyone can look to see what someone received. A corporate gift basket might include some coffee and hot chocolate. Also one can always give someone a set of pens or other office knick knacks that are sure to be useful.

One thing to consider when giving a corporate gift basket is who the basket is for. If the recipient of the gift person is the boss, one might try to give something nicer. A corporate gift basket should mirror the persons position the company. It goes both ways however. As the boss, giving a bonus or a nice gift is sometimes expected. Whether or not it is fair is another story, the fact is that others expect it. Changing the rules during the holiday season will be looked upon by others like the scrooge showed up.

There are several companies that specialize in making gift baskets in large numbers for huge organizations. Shop around and ask for samples and quotes.

Other Corporate Gift Baskets

One doesn't need to wait for the holidays in order to give corporate gift baskets. If someone is leaving the company in good standing, this is a chance to let the person know how much they meant to the organization. For the same reason, when someone comes in as a new hire, a corporate gift basket will make them feel welcomed and needed. Some times, a little gift can make someone feel more like a team member than a high salary. If a coworker is sick or has had surgery, a gift basket will make them smile. It can make the difference between a good versus a bad day.

Whatever the occasion, when someone receives a gift basket, it lets others know that they are not alone. Making a corporate gift basket a little personal lets the individual know that this isn't the norm for everyone in the same situation. Writing a little note with the basket means someone cares about them personally. There are occasions when two people don't get along well in the workplace. After receiving a gift basket from that person, the walls of defense begin to come down. One may find that they can be friends, maybe even close friends - all because someone took the initiative to do something for the other.
